North Korea, Under UN Scrutiny, Turns to H-Bomb 'Scare Tactic'
Dec. 11, 2015 - Apparently to counter United Nations discussions about North Korea’s human rights violations, Kim Jong Un announced that
North Korea has developed a hydrogen bomb.
While North Korea tested nuclear devices in 2006, 2009, and 2013, there is no verifiable proof that it has developed a hydrogen bomb.
The device, also known as a thermonuclear bomb, is significantly more powerful than an atomic bomb.

Russia flies strategic space warfare missile

Russia now joins China as the only nations with strategic space warfare weapons. In October, China conducted a flight test of its anti-satellite missile,
the Dong Neng-3 direct ascent missile.

Iran tests another mid-range ballistic missile in breach of UN resolutions
Dec. 7, 2015 - Iran has tested another mid-range missile in a breach of two United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The missile, known as a Ghadr-110, has a range of 1,800 – 2000 km, or 1200 miles, and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. The missile
fired in November is an improved version of the Shahab 3.

Turkish F-16 shoots down Russian fighter jet near Syria border
Nov. 24, 2015 - A Russian warplane was shot down today by two Turkish F-16 fighter jets.
A U.S. official confirmed to Fox News that the Russian Sukhoi-24 was downed by an air-to-air missile north of the Syrian port city of Latakia.
The official added that the Russian jet was warned three times.
In October the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) had warned Russia that allowing their planes to enter Turkish air space was
courting "extreme danger."

Oct. 30, 2015 - Chinese Navy chief Admiral Wu Shengli told the U.S. that even a minor confrontation in the South China Sea could escalate into a war.
Tensions between the two superpowers elevated on Tuesday when a U.S. naval vessel sailed within the 12-mile radius line established by
China around artificial islands it has constructed in the busy shipping lane.

Oct. 28, 2015 - China has literally built an island in an area of the South China Sea that neighboring countries consider a military threat. Their
island has large airfields, ports and lighthouses. Yesterday the U.S.S. Lassen, a destroyer, came close to the area, causing the Chinese to issue a strong warning.
Tensions have ratcheted up as China has reclaimed some 2,000 acres of land in a massive dredging operation, turning sandbars into islands equipped with airfields, ports and lighthouses.
On Tuesday, China said it warned and tracked the U.S.S. Lassen, a destroyer, as it came close to five of its artificial islands in the South China Sea's contested waters.
Cui Tiankai, Chinese ambassador to the United States, told CNN Tuesday that the U.S. patrol was "a very serious provocation, politically and militarily."

Russia to display mega H-bomb copy in Moscow

Russia will display a replica of the most powerful nuclear device ever to be exploded - the Soviet "Tsar Bomba" - near the Kremlin in Moscow next month.
The 58-megaton H-bomb, detonated in 1961 in the Arctic, was about 3,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima atom bomb.

‘Nobody is going to wait’: Saudi drafting nuclear back-up plan to counter Iran?
Mar. 7, 2015 - This past week Egypt's president visited Saudi Arabia on Sunday, followed by Turkey's president on Monday, and then
Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday. Simon Henderson, of the Washington Institute, told Fox News:
"The visit by the PM ... almost certainly has to be seen in the context of Saudi Arabia looking to Pakistan for nuclear cooperation to
counter Iran's emerging status."
Last month Henderson wrote an essay suggesting that Saudi Arabia is providing support for Pakistan's nuclear program, "providing
financing in return for a widely assumed understanding that, if needed, Islamabad will transfer technology or even warheads."
