Iran declares 'good news' as nuclear deal appears imminent
July 12, 2015 - Negotiations with Iran over their nuclear future are nearly over. Even though the U.S. says there are still problems, Ali Akbar Salehi,
Tehran's nuclear chief, told the press that there would be "good news."
Drafting of the deal's text is said to be complete, according to the EU's foreign policy chief. Going into consequential
talks on Saturday night, all that was left, it appeared, was a small set of political decisions to be settled by all sides.

keeping sanctions in place until then.

July 3, 2015 - According to the National Military Strategy for 2015, the U.S. not only faces the threat of insurgent

the South China Sea that violate international law.
The report predicted that cyber-attacks from these sources will be “unpredictable, costly and difficult to control.”

US, West ready to offer nuclear equipment to Iran if it limits possible atomic weapons programs
June 24, 2015 - The Associated Press has obtained a confidential paper being used in the talks between Iran and Western
world leaders including the United States. It reveals that there are still several issues where agreement has not been reached.
The draft, entitled "Civil Nuclear Cooperation," promises to supply Iran with light-water nuclear reactors instead of its
nearly completed heavy-water facility at Arak, which would produce enough plutonium for several bombs a year if completed as planned.
Members of Congress will probably be displeased with this provision because they feel that the U.S. has already offered too many concessions.

The West Is Turning a Blind Eye to Iran’s Sanctions Busting
June 12, 2015 - A United Nations report claims that Iran continues to violate sanctions imposed against them, and the countries that
should be reporting their offenses are failing to do so.

Senate Votes 98-1 to Give Congress a Say on the Iran Nuke Deal
May 7, 2015 - By a 98 to 1 vote, the Senate agreed that Congress should be able to review any agreement made with Iran
concerning their nuclear programs.
Under the bill, Congress will be able to pass a resolution of disapproval if it decides the final Iran deal is no good. That resolution
might well be able to pass both the House and the Senate.
At that point, the President could veto the Congressional action. A veto could be overridden by a 2/3 majority of both houses of Congress,
but it is less likely that the vote in the House of Representatives would
reach that level.

Salami is lieutenant commander of the Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. He was apparently reacting to a meeting between
Secretary of State John Kerry and Israeli officials to discuss the Iranian threat, and the statement that the Obama administration
will not take military action off the table if Iran does not commit to an acceptable nuclear agreement this summer.

Senate panel unanimously backs Iran bill
Apr. 15, 2015 - A unanimous vote by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee sends legislation to the Senate that would

Josh Earnest indicated that the President would not veto the bill in its present form.
The administration’s about-face came after it was clear that a veto-proof majority,
including many Democrats, will support the legislation unless hard-line amendments are added by Republicans on the Senate floor.

Tom Cotton: Obama's Iran Deal May Lead to Nuclear War
Apr. 13, 2015 - Jeffrey Goldberg, a correspondent for the Atlantic, says that Tom Cotton is the most interesting Senate freshman because
he was already able to convince 46 of his Republican colleagues to sign an open letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei warning that
Congress might overturn the nuclear agreement if it is inadequate.
Cotton told Goldberg that a military strike of short duration against Iran could prevent a larger war in the future. He said,
"If we agreed to the kind of proposal the Obama administration has made, then military confrontation may be further off, but it might also be nuclear."

Apr. 12, 2015 - In 2007 Russia agreed to sell advanced S-300 missiles to Iran, but in 2010 then-President Dmitry Medvedev prohibited the

Kissinger Slams Obama for Conceding to Iranian 'Nuclear Arsenal'
Apr. 10, 2015 - Two legendary former US Secretaries of State, Henry Kissinger and George P. Shultz, agreed in a Wall Street Journal article,
that after 12 years of striving to prevent the development of an Iranian nuclear weapon, the proposed agreement that has emerged will allow
the dreaded completion of this threat. They wrote:
"[By] mixing shrewd diplomacy with open defiance of U.N. resolutions, Iran has gradually turned the negotiation
on its head. Iran’s centrifuges have multiplied from about 100 at the beginning of the negotiation to almost 20,000 today."
Meanwhile, Iranian Revolutionary Guards Commander, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari, proclaimed that the framework was a "diplomatic jihad" victory
that will force the US to give up its military option.

Iran news report: Tehran will start using fastest centrifuges on day deal takes effect
Apr. 8, 2014 - The FARS news agency reported that Iran's foreign minister and nuclear chief told members of parliament that
as soon as the nuclear deal goes into effect the country will start using their most-advanced IR-8 centrifuges.
If accurate, the report makes a mockery of the world powers’ much-hailed framework agreement with Iran, since such a move
clearly breaches the US-published terms of the deal, and would dramatically accelerate Iran’s potential progress to the bomb.
