Islam is the second largest, and some claim, the fastest growing, religion in the world. It is not well understood in the United States, but the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center by militant Muslims have made people curious about its teachings. Many Muslims live in relative peace, but there is a strong, sizeable faction of radical militants that dominate the news and use terrorist tactics to advance it's agenda of world domination. Osama bin Laden and his organization, Al Qaeda, were responsible for the killing of more than three thousand innocent Americans. They have trained thousands of terrorists, and have now conducted terrorist attacks all over the world.

Christians need to affirm their love for Muslims (Christ died for all men), and stand against any persecution against them based on their religion or ethnicity. We should also seek to enter into dialog with them where possible, so that they might learn more about Jesus, whom they respect as a prophet, but do not accept as savior. At the same time, we should be entirely opposed to the wanton murder of innocent people by terrorists. And we should not give the false impression, so prevalent in our culture today, that our beliefs are equal. Jesus said He is the only way to God the Father (John 14:6).

Radical Islam has continued to grow. Their aim is to control the world. Intelligence experts warn that another great attack is likely in America. Few Muslim mosques stand effectively against violence. Instead, they tend to serve as places of recruitment for jihadists. Outdated immigration policies and weak border control allow the continued flow of trained terrorists into our country. Americans and their leaders need to wake up and find ways to stop this trend before it is too late for us.

In July, 2014 the radical jihadist group, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), also known as Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), claimed that they were establishing a new Islamic caliphate, with the goal of reclaiming the lands once held by the Ottoman Empire. Using the most brutal tactics seen in our lifetime -- including beheadings, crucifixions, mass slaughter, and burying opponents alive -- they have invaded large portions of Syria and Iraq, and have killed or driven out almost all Christians. This new, illegitimate force is motivated by Sunni Islamic theology, and will undoubtedly be resisted by the Shite branch of Islam, led by Iran. They will also be opposed by Western powers, including the United States and the more moderate Sunni nations such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The continued growth of Islam raises another prophetic possibility: that the large and growing number of Muslims in Europe might exert a strong influence over the culture there. The affected area would resemble the old Roman Empire at it's greatest extent, and could be what was predicted in Daniel, chapter 2, where it depicts the final world empire, symbolized by iron [Rome] and clay [Islamic influence?]. See Revived Roman Empire.

Germany anti-Islam protests: 17,000 march on Dresden against 'Islamification of the West'

Dec. 23, 2014 - More than 17,000 gathered in Dresden, Germany to support a group called PEGIDA - “Patriotic Europeans against the Islamification of the West.” The crowd waved German flags and sang Christmas carols.
Pegida insists it is opposing only against extremism and not against immigrants or Islam itself, but the demonstrations have received support from far-right and Neo-Nazi groups, prompting concerns that xenophobic sentiment might be rising.

Rev. Franklin Graham: Muslim Prayer Service at National Cathedral ‘Sad to See’

Nov. 15, 2014 - Franklin Graham objected to the use of the National Cathedral yesterday for a first-ever Muslim prayer service. On Facebook Graham said,
“It’s sad to see a church open its doors to the worship of anything other than the One True God of the Bible who sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins,”
He also mentioned that Jesus claimed to be the only way to the Father - John 14:6

Carpets were arranged so Muslims could bow toward Mecca and not need to look at crosses or Christian icons, because they are not allowed to pray in view of symbols of other faiths.

Caliphate In Europe: Sweden Cedes Control Of Muslim Areas

Nov. 7, 2014 - There are some 55 areas in Sweden that have become virtual Islamic states. According to Soeren Kern of the Hudson Institute:
They are de facto Muslim micro-states under Shariah law that reject Western values, society and legal systems. In these districts non-Muslims are expected to conform to the dictates of fundamentalist Islam or face violent consequences.
Similar situations have developed all over Europe, where large Muslim populations have migrated to "tolerant" areas and then refused to assimilate into the culture.

Is This the End for Mideast Christianity?

Nov. 5, 2014 -
"For Christians in the Middle East, 2014 has been a catastrophe. The most wrenching stories have come from Iraq, where the nascent Islamic State (ISIS or ISIL ...) has savagely persecuted ancient Christian communities, including Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Syrian Orthodox."
Ever since the seventh century, when Islam conquered the Middle East, Christianity has been subdued, but even as late as 1914, the Christian population of the whole region from Egypt to Persia (Iran)was still 10%. The percentage has declined greatly in Iraq since the first Gulf War in 1991, but Christians still maintained a strong presence in Mosul, where the church was founded in the early days of Christianity.

Now observers say that the end of Christianity in Iraq and other parts of the Middle East is in sight. Only Egypt and Lebanon have a sizeable Christian population, and they too are being persecuted.

The article explores the history of persecution and the question about why God allows it. Examples are given of persecution resulting in Christian growth, especially in the case of China. The author concludes, "Suffering, Yes. Extinction, No."

Does moderate Islam exist?

Sept. 15, 2014 -
Until the leading Islamic scholars provide a peaceful theology that clearly contradicts the violent views of the IS, the existence of a “moderate Islam” must be questioned.
The Islamic State (IS) believes that Muslims must offer non-Muslims the following choices: Convert to Islam, pay a humiliating tax called “Jijya,” or be killed. This was also the belief of the early Muslims when they conducted their massive conquests.

Obama: Islamic State 'is not Islamic'

Sept. 10, 2011 - President Obama delivered a speech to announce “a comprehensive and sustained counter-terrorism strategy” to “degrade, and ultimately destroy,” ISIS. His plan includes:
- Conduct a systematic campaign of airstrike against ISIL targets in Iraq and Syria.
- Increase support to forces fighting terrorists on the ground, but avoid getting "dragged into another ground war in Iraq."
- Assist the moderate Syrian opposition to prevail against ISIL and the Assad regime.
- Provide humanitarian aid to oppressed civilians, including Sunni and Shiite Muslims, Christians and other religious minorities.
The President also stressed that ISIL is "not Islamic," because “No religion condones the killing of innocents." In addition, he said, “ISIL is certainly not a state." He explained that it was an al-Qaida’s affiliate that has taken advantage of the unrest in Syria and Iraq, and it is recognized by no government as a legitimate state.

Saudi cleric: ISIS soldiers must kill their commanders

Sept. 9, 2014 -In a recent interview on Saudi TV, Islamic cleric Sa’d Al-Shathri said that ISIL (also called ISIS and Islamic State)is an apostate movement, and its adherents are not going to be rewarded in the afterlife, but “will go to the hellfire.” He warned that the terrorist group...
". . . is fighting Allah and his messenger. They [spread] corruption and act against Islamic law. They shut down mosques, kill Islamic scholars, and prohibit religious books and the hijab. They torture Allah’s believing servants.”

1 common link among world's most brutal terrorists

Sept. 1, 2014 - Brigitte Gabriel's book, “They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It,” indicates that the main thing all of the radical islamist groups have in common is the Koran itself.
For example, Quran 8:12 talks about striking fear into the hearts of disbelievers. Therefore, they cut off their fingers and toes because they disobeyed Allah.
Gabriel says that what ISIS is doing is no different than what any other group or devout followers of the Quran will do.
