April 20, 2012 - Popocatepetl Volcano, just southeast of Mexico City, has experienced a number of minor discharges lately. It
is considered the most dangerous volcano in the world because over 30 million people live within areas surrounding the base.
Recent earthquakes in Mexico include one on March 20 and two more during the past week.
- Residents and tourists have been advised to remain at least seven miles away from the volcano's base, lest magma or hot rock
injure anyone. Mexico has been experiencing natural disasters with increasing frequency.
