PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE:
Why would God send revival in the last days? In the Bible, He always gave believers an opportunity to repent, and he often allowed the worst
of pagans the opportunity to repent as well (eg. Nineveh).
The Lord is mightily at work in His World! See some of the recent highlights below, and be sure to check out the Christian news
sources listed at the top of the Revival Links!

Even if the story is no longer on line, our summary will still be available on this page.
Dec. 29, 2012 - Some 16,000 Christian young people have come together in St. Louis for Urbana 2012, a triennial student
missions conference hosted by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.
InterVarsity's president and CEO, Alec Hill, told The Christian Post during a press conference earlier in the day that his hope was
that students not only take back what they learned from the event to their campuses, but come away with a sense of God's calling.
Students will be inspired to go on short-term missions and commit their whole lives to mission.
Dec. 18, 2012 - Frank Pastore, host of the most successful Christian talk radio show died yesterday of complications from a
motorcycle accident nearly a month ago. Russell Shubin, director of National News and Public Affairs Salem Communications, described
Pastore as a "larger-than-life persona that you could not help but love." He was highly trained in theology, apologetics and philosophy.
"He was always approachable, always humble. He knew he was a recipient of God's grace – and he wanted to share Christ's redeeming
work with others. That's what he did, every day. And he did it so very well. He will be greatly missed."
Dec. 17, 2012 - Three hours before his motorcycle accident (Nov. 19) popular Christian radio host was discussing an episode of
Through the Wormhole, a TV show on the Science Channel hosted by Morgan Freeman. The topic was life after death. He said,
"At any minute I could be spread all over the 210," the host told his audience three hours before a car struck him as he rode
his motorcycle on the 210 freeway near Los Angeles.
It doesn't seem possible, but Frank Pastore, a great champion of the truth, has been called to his heavenly home, where it is certain that the Lord Jesus will tell him, "Well done, you good and faithful servant!"
Hundreds of thousands of his listeners have been praying for his recovery from a tragic motorcycle accident a few weeks ago. It didn't seem likely to us that the Lord would allow his powerful voice to be silenced while the world so desperately needs his message.
One thing is for sure. The Lord never makes a mistake. Frank must be overjoyed to be in His presence now!
After many years when Frank helped all of us understand how wonderful Jesus is, and how credible the Bible is, perhaps it is time now for all of Frank's followers to take stock of our own lives and consider what responsibility we have to propagate the faith to our own audiences - our neighbors, co-workers, and families.
I can imagine Frank quoting the Apostle Paul:
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses,
commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.- 2 Timothy 2:1-2
Maybe it is time for his broken-hearted disciples to open ourselves up to a great End-times revival. Frank encouraged his listeners to understand the times, and to be ready for the Rapture of the Church. He did a masterful job as Master of Ceremonies for our Prophecy Conference at the Ontario Convention Center a couple of years ago. As the world gets darker spiritually, the light of truth in Jesus becomes brighter.
It didn't seem right for Jesus to die as young as He was, or for the Apostle Paul to die when he did, but Christianity flourished because the same Holy Spirit that was in them was given to all true believers.
We will miss him terribly, but the best tribute to his memory would be the revival of multitudes of his listeners at such a time as this.
The horror of the Sandy Hook school massacre is the worst possible news for our generation. It is beyond comprehension.
Among the many questions that are prompted by this tragedy is this one: "What is the prophetic significance of this event and others like it?"
2 Timothy 3:1-4 says.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God...
While this prophecy applies to ungodly behavior of people of all ages, the phrase "disobedient to their parents" shows that it is especially
true of many teens and young adults. Of course, they are not intrinsically worse than previous generations, but they are the ones who have
inherited an extremely troubled world, and understandably do not have much faith in a peaceful and prosperous future. Their temptations to
addictive substances and immoral activities are intense. We have allowed God and prayer to be taken out of their education, and have handed
them a world-view that denies absolute truth. Most of them do not know the Bible or have a personal relationship with Christ. They are the
victims of the apostasy of our end-times generation.
Though he was inspired to write these prophetic words, the Apostle Paul could not have imagined the effect that the violent media of this age,
including some of the music, many of the movies, and most of the video games would have in searing the conscience of its young victims.
On the other hand, if the Lord sends us the revival that we so desperately need and desire, young people will lead the way, or at least, be
a vital part of such a wonderful event. There are already many promising movements that could lead to a full-grown "Great Awakening," and
hundreds of thousands of young people who are faithful disciples of The Lord Jesus Christ."
Let us pray earnestly for the families of these precious children from the Sandy Hook Elementary school, and for the families of the adults
who died protecting them. And let us pray that the godly young people of our generation will lead the way in sharing the Gospel with their peers.
Pray for Frank Pastore, in coma after motorcycle accident
Nov. 25, 2012 - Please pray dilligently for the recovery of Frank Pastore who is in critical condition and in a coma since he
had a motorcycle accident five days ago. He is at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
"It's difficult to tell at this point what the outcome will be," hospital spokeswoman Rosa Saca told California’s Inland Valley
Daily Bulletin.
Frank was a baseball star with the Cincinatti Reds and is the host of the largest Christian talk radio program in the nation. He is an
incredible force for Christian truth, morality, and revival.
He is our friend, and was the MC of our Prophecy Conference in the Ontario Convention Center last year.
If you would like to send Frank and his family best wishes, cards can be sent to: P.O. Box 29023, Glendale, CA 91209.
Nov. 15, 2012 - View this video and read the article featuring an interview with Franklin Graham about the spiritual state of
the nation. We need revival!
Sept. 22, 2012 - This is a balanced discussion of the biblical teaching about miracles as signs to encourage belief, and the
current upsurge of real miracles and false miraculous claims. God does use "signs" to get people's attention, but the focus should be on Jesus,
not on the miracles themselves.
They are not the substance of the kingdom; they are symptoms of the kingdom. The substance is Jesus, who suffered, died,
and was buried, then was raised again to life.
Sept. 9, 2012 - Bible classes are being taught in 20 schools in Hamilton County, Tenn.
With the help of an organization called Bible in the Schools...certified Bible teachers – [are] hired at no cost to the taxpayers
– while dodging the legal tactics of groups like the American Civil Liberties Union.
Aug. 18, 2012 - The United States seems to be missing from Biblical prophecy. Greg Laurie wonders if it is because our great nation will have suffered the
fate of all past world powers. Historians say that a great civilization is not conquered by others until it has first destroyed itself from
within. Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, but we have strayed far from the original vision of our Founding Fathers. He says,
What once was freedom of religion seems to have now become freedom from religion. We have succeeded in getting God out of our
schools, out of our sporting events, out of our public places and out of our workplaces.
We now face one of two choices: judgment or revival. He concludes, "If we do not have revival, then I think judgment is inevitable."
Mike Huckabee said Thursday that the success of "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" went beyond "anything I could have imagined,"
saying stores across the country reported "record, historic sales."
July 26, 2012 - In a recent prayer newsletter, Billy Graham recalled the words of his late wife, Ruth, that that "If God doesn't
punish America, He'll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah." He listed several signs of declining morality in the nation, including abortion,
indulgence, pride, and a lack of shame over sin.
Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone – except God," Graham says. "Yet the farther we get from God, the more the
world spirals out of control."
He called for repentance, like that of Nineveh in Jonah's day. He said, "The wonderful news is that our Lord is a God of mercy, and He
responds to repentance."
OUR NEIGHBORS AND OUR NATION NEED JESUS CHRIST.
Working together with local churches and Christians like you, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will hold a massive, nationwide
outreach in November 2013, called My Hope with Billy Graham. We will proclaim the only message that can change our communities and
transform our nation—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Will you join us as we lift up Christ, so that “in his name the nations will put their
hope” (Matthew 12:21, NIV)?
July 16, 2012 - Associated Press reported that at least 1 million evangelical Christians participated in the annual "March for Jesus"
in Sao Paulo, Brazil
"The number of people participating is extremely high – at least 1 million," The Associated Press quoted Police Capt. Luis Fernando
Otaviano as saying of the annual march in Sao Paulo.
The event, held last Saturday, was organized by the Reborn in Christ Church, The evangelical population in Brazil has jumped 6.6 percent to 22.2
percent of the overall Brazilian population. The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life now rates Brazil as the world's second most Christian-populated
country.
June 17, 2012 - Joel Rosenberg's Simulcast called "Implosion" was seen at nearly 300 locations across the nation. He spoke
about the very serious financial and moral threats to America just days after the release of his latest book (with the same name). The
good news is a strong call for a "Third Great Awakening" in our history.
In the book, Rosenberg explores whether the United States – long the wealthiest, most powerful nation in history – is an empire in
decline or a nation poised for a historic renaissance.
June 12, 2012 - There is a revival of Bible knowledge because of new technologies. It is reminiscent of the spread of God's Word
after the invention of the printing press! Robert C. Crosby writes:
Not only do billions around the world now have access to the Bible online, and not only are many of them actually reading it,
they're also actively engaging with the Word of God—and with one another....
The physical roads of the Roman Empire that connected people throughout the then-known world, made the spread of the Gospel possible. Today
the Internet, the smartphone, the tablet, and social media are the "new Roman roads" that connect millions of homes and individuals with the
ability to engage others with the teaching of the Bible.
May 23, 2012 - Read the inspiring Natasha Bass' story of Christians reaching the post-modern, post-Christian population of Montreal.
Pierre Lebel, head of the Montreal base of Youth With a Mission (YWAM), said that based on {missiologist Lesslie] Newbigin's teachings,
evangelizing a post-Christian culture is like trying to reach a divorcée: Sensitivity is required for both situations.
Bass discovered that she could not start with "Bible-thumping," but rather rather with "unconditional love, whether they were addicts,
homeless, hopeless, or just plain mean." Fortunately there are many dedicated Christians who are determined to reseed Quebec with the gospel.
May 20, 2012 - The Muslim country of Indonesia allowed the World Prayer Assembly (WPA) to host what is believed to be the world's
largest Christian intercessory prayer event. More than 9,000 evangelical church leaders from over 60 countries met daily for four
days in the 11,000-seat Sentul International Convention Center in Jakarta and other venues.
Thursday night, leaders were joined by other Indonesian Christians, all of whom together amounted to over 100,000, sources told CP, nearly
making the 80,000-seat Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, where they assembled for a church service, burst at the seams.
Delegates focused their prayers and discussions on how to best spread the Gospel and promote Christian unity worldwide.
April 21, 2012 - From a statement on Colson's official website
Evangelical Christianity lost one of its most eloquent and influential voices today with the death of Charles W. "Chuck" Colson.
The Prison Fellowship and Colson Center for Christian Worldview founder died at 3:12 p.m. on Saturday from complications resulting from
a brain hemorrhage. Colson was 80.
A Watergate figure who emerged from the country's worst political scandal, a vocal Christian leader and a champion for prison ministry,
Colson spent the last years of his life in the dual role of leading Prison Fellowship, the world's largest outreach to prisoners,
ex-prisoners and their families, and the Colson Center, a teaching and training center focused on Christian worldview thought and application.
April 20, 2012 - After a speaking engagement on March 30, Chuck Colson, the founder of Prison Fellowship, suffered an
intracerebral hemorrhage and underwent surgery, but his condition has worsened. Jim Liske, CEO of Prison Fellowship, revealed says that he
may soon "be with the Lord."
In recent years, Colson has pushed for Christian political leaders to sign the "Manhattan Declaration," a testament proposed in
2009 that identifies and pledges to support the three most foundational issues in society – the sanctity of life, the historic
understanding of marriage, and religious liberty.
There is already an outpouring of honor from the countless people who's lives have been enriched by his moral courage
and biblical insight during the past several decades.
April 9, 2012 - In Georgetown, Texas, an estimated crowd of 30,000 people celebrated Easter in an outdoor setting that
featured an interview with NFL star Tim Tebow. Many church-goers wore Tebow's jersey and his iconic eye black, complete with his favorite scripture
-- John 3:16.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting
life," Dakota Shipman recited.
Tebow said, "Regardless of what happens, I still honor my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, because at the end of the day, that's what's
important, win or lose." He also said, "We need to get back to one nation under God, and be role models for kids,"
Mar. 27, 2012 - Jerry Trousdale director of International Ministries for CityTeam International, reports that a new disciple-
making strategy has enabled them to take the Gospel to 45 different "unreached" Muslim-majority groups in Africa in just a few years.
Over 6,000 new churches were planted among Muslims in 18 different countries in Africa over the last seven years. And hundreds of former
sheikhs and imams have become followers of Jesus Christ over that period.
Trousdale is the author of the new book Miraculous Movements.
Mar. 24, 2012 - Persecution of Christians has led to a booming underground church in Iran and young people in that country are unhappy
with their Islamic leaders after what they consider a false re-election of their radical president.
The number of Muslims converting to become Christians is growing at an explosive rate, according to the persecution watchdog group
Open Doors USA.
Mar. 22, 2012 - A prophecy conference will be held at Biola University this week-end featuring Joel Rosenberg and many
other knowledgable speakers. It is being organized by a Messianic Jewish organization called Chosen People Ministries, and it will
seek to address how to reach the lost and lead them to Christ as prophetic events unfold.
The organization, founded in 1894, exists to pray for, evangelize, disciple, and serve Jewish people everywhere and to help fellow
believers do the same. Chosen People Ministries serves in 13 countries across the globe.
Mar. 8, 2012 - In a three-part radio series Pastor Greg Laurie reviews the life and impact of Calvary Chapel's Founder,
Chuck Smith. Laurie said,
"As I look back at that time, right as the Jesus Movement was beginning to explode in 1970 ...
I discovered something very special had happened ... [there was] a total spiritual revival,"
Chuck Smith himself had described it this way:
It's just a fresh wave of God's spirit moving through His people. You can't describe how it begins but it's just the sovereign work of
God and God wanting to work in the hearts of people and just letting Him do it."
Jan. 22, 2012 - Chuck Smith, "The father of the Jesus Movement," has cancer. A retired policeman looks back on the Lord's leading
in his life and the amazing results. We could use another revival of youth today.
Chemotherapy and radiation lie in front of the 82-year old pastor, but behind him is a legacy that will live for decades to come,
if not eternity.
The popular, and apparently controversial video, showcases what Jefferson Bethke says was his “journey to discover this truth –
the difference between Jesus and false religion.”
Jan. 13, 2012 - The U.S.Supreme Court has made a very significant decision in favor of religious liberty.
For the first time, the Court held that there is indeed a ministerial exemption that allows churches and
religious organizations to ... hire religious teachers without state interference.
Jan. 9, 2012 - Tim Tebow, the Denver Bronco's quarterback who has been criticized for his bold Christian statements but
praised for his skill, completed an 80-yard game-winning touchdown pass to receiver Demaryius Thomas. His total passing yards for the
game equalled 316 yards, and the average of his 10 completions was 31.6 yards.
The writer of the article said this:
His performance also borrowed a little magic from another famous book. The devout Christian's stat line in Sunday's game mirrors
the numbering of the Biblical passage that Tebow at times had painted on to his black eye paint during his career...
That verse, of course is John 3:16- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Jan. 1, 2012 - Some 5 to 10 thousand Christians from Kasr El Dobara Church, a major evangelical church near Tahrir Square, took
the chance of moving their New Year's Eve worship rally to the Square where angry demonstrations and deaths have abounded during the past year.
Other Christians joined them and the event was broadcast by satellite all over the region.
This New Year’s Eve event did indeed end peacefully, but also generated hope across the region as SAT-7 broadcast the service live to
millions of others who could not be there themselves.
