Oct. 26, 2011 - Chuck Colson exposes the duplicity of the Chinese in regard to their treatment of Christianityin their country. They have sponsored an exhibit about the history of the spread of Christianity in China fromthe Tang Dynasty onward. However, at the same time, they are brutally repressing Christians today. - ChinaAid, an organization that exposes the persecution of Christians in China, says the exhibit is “a government propaganda ploy” intended to deflect attention from reports of growing religious persecution in China.

24 Killed as Egypt Church Protests Turn Violent
Oct. 10, 2011 - In Cairo, Coptic Christians protested the recent burning of a church. When the group marchedto Egypt's Radio and Television Building, plainclothes police attacked them. Then the protests spread to Tahrir Square,the focal point of the February revolution. An armored security van sped into the crowd, crushing some protesters todeath. - Protesters used firebombs, set army vehicles on fire and battled with security forces in Egypt's most violentclashes since the February uprising that ousted Hosni Mubarak as Egypt's president.
At least 24 people have ben killed and more than 200 injured. Dozens of people have been arrested.In recent weeks Muslim crowds have rioted at two churches in southern Egypt. Iranian Pastor Faces Execution for Refusing to Recant Christian Faith - Sept. 29, 2011 - An Iranian house-church pastor, 32-year-old Yusuf Naderkhani, has been sentenced to death forrefusing to renounce his Christian faith. An appeals court has heard his case is likely to set aside the deathpenalty, but could still sentence him to a long term imprisonment.

Religious Liberty Concerns Increase in Middle East - Sept. 20, 2011 - U.S. State Department has released its annual international religious freedom report, indicatingthat there are still eight countries in the world designated as a “country of particular concern” (CPC). They are:Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Uzbekistan.

May 10, 2011 - A new clash between Muslims and Coptic Christians has left 12 people dead and achurch in Cairo burned. - The latest bloodshed reportedly began when a rumor spread that a Christian woman who married a Muslim was beingheld in the Virgin Mary Church. Local religious leaders have not confirmed that report.

Egypt's Christians Flee amid Islamic Threat
Apr. 18, 2011 - At least 20 Christians have been killed in Egypt since Mubarak was deposed. Hundreds ofChristians are seeking legal help to flee from the country now. Radical Muslims are gaining power in the new regime. - "They are insisting on leaving Egypt because the risks of staying here are too great," Naguib Gabriel, a Coptic human rights lawyer, told Egypt Daily News. "Many Christians are afraid of the future because of the fanatics in the mosques," he said.

Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan's Most Prominent Christian, Assassinated
Mar. 2, 2011 - Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan's Minister for Minorities Affairs, was assassinated outside his mother's home in IslamabadWednesday morning. He was the only Christian serving in the Pakistani government, and was well known for campaigningagains the nation's strict blasphemy law and lobbying for the rights of religious minorities. Members of the Talibanand al-Qaeda have claimed responsibility for the murder.Bahatti had predicted his death in a recent interview with Johan Candelin, from First Step Forum. They made avideo to be released in the event of his death. - Candelin, who worked with Bhatti for about seven yearsand interviewed him several times, said that Bhatti had very much come to terms with the prospect of his own murder:"He said that 'I have not married because I know that I will be killed, and I am willing to be a martyr for Christ.'
