Iran's Khamenei presents war scenarios
Nov. 15, 2011 - Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is apparently concerned that his country might
be attacked by the U.S. and Israel because of their nuclear program. He has posted an analysis of three possible
scenarios that was written by Dr. Amir Mohebian, a senior political commentator.
The first possibility is an all out war that would combine attacks by aerial and ground forces. The paper says that
their enemies are not capable of carrying out such a costly war at this time.
The second possibility is an attack on Iran’s control centers. Disrupting the existing power base could lead either
to the fall of the Islamic regime, or even to Iran's total surrender at the negotiating table. The paper states that
this choice is unlikely, because it could backfire, causing Iran to be more aggressive, setting the Middle East on
fire.
The third scenario would be an attack on Iran's "assault capabilities" [presumably including their nuclear
development sites]. The analysis of this possibility claims that there is a relatively small likelihood of even
this attack happening.
- He notes that the scenario's execution would be complicated.
It would be impossible to attack all of the country's nuclear facilities due to its size; a limited war
could develop into a regional war.

Iran loses top missile expert in explosions sparked by failed bid to fit nuclear warhead on Shahab-3
Nov. 14, 2011 - In what appears to be a string of attacks by Iranian dissident groups, a huge explosion
occured at the Iranian Revolutionary Guard base on Saturday. The base is Amir-al-Mo'menin, located some 25 miles
north of Tehran. Several people were killed, including Brig. Hassan Moghadam. He was the head of Revolutionary
Guards (IRGC) missile development and sections of its nuclear program. DEBKAfile's sources report that the explosion
was caused by "a failed effort to mount a possible nuclear warhead on a Shahab-3 intermediate-range missile."
Other "accidents" shortly before the big explosion include a big fire at an ammo base in the town of Malard and a
light arms depot at the Bidganeh military camp several miles away.
Some observers think the explosions were caused by an armed dissident group called Oghab. Three members of this
group were executed recently. An organization of that name operates in the United States, but its leader denied
involvement in the events.

is Islamic jurisprudence (sharia).
The draft constitution does specify the "freedom of practicing religious rights and shall guarantee respect for
