One million students across the United States and countries worldwide will observe the annual "See You at the Pole" prayer on school campuses Wednesday morning. The theme of this year's SYATP event is "Fix Our Eyes."

Hebrews 12:2 - "Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Zuckerberg sees what sociologists, pastors, and many of the rest of us have noticed: People are looking outside of the typical affiliations—and outside of the church—for meaning, purpose, and community.

"The exclusion of Trinity Lutheran from a public benefit for which it is otherwise qualified, solely because it is a church, is odious to our Constitution all the same, and cannot stand.”

"It's important that Christian families have worldview conversations – early and often – because "the worldview that you have at the age 13 is essentially the worldview that you die with."

Unfortunately, the parents of Millennials may not have a biblical worldview either, so grandparents may need to lead those conversations.

The Senate on Tuesday confirmed school choice advocate Betsy DeVos as Education secretary by the narrowest of margins, with Vice President Mike Pence breaking a 50-50 tie in a historic vote.

DeVos had been criticized by teachers unions and civil rights activists because of her support of charter schools and her conservative religious ideology.

She has, for more than 20 years, been promoting programs, laws and policies that enable parents to choose which schools their children will attend -- whether these are charter schools, voucher schools or parochial schools.

Republicans, in the majority in both the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and the full Senate, defended her as being committed to children even if she has been a key supporter of school choice and vouchers.

“The Cascade School District made the appropriate decision to eliminate the unconstitutional policy and recognize that the Good News Club has equal access to students,” said Mat Staver, chairman of Liberty Counsel.

"Why, in 2017, are we still questioning parents' ability to exercise educational choice for their children?... "I am a firm believer that parents should be empowered to choose the learning environment that's best for their individual children."
