Nov. 7, 2017 - An attempted missile attack on Riyadh’s main airport in Saudi Arabia came from Yemen, but is considered an
"act of war" by Iran.
Houthi rebels in Yemen, who have been fighting Saudi-backed forces there for several years, claimed responsibility for firing the
ballistic missile on Saturday. The missile traveled more than 500 miles before Saudi Arabia intercepted it.
However, examination of debris from the missile showed that it was made in Iran, so the Saudis consider the episode an act of war by Iran, and say
they will respond to Iran based on the right of self-defense.
