Signs of the Times

One-World Religion

PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE: The Bible clearly teaches that there will be some kind of universal religion that will use its influence to enable the Beast, a world military and economic dictator, to rise to power.

There are already religious movements working toward the goal of a "United Religions," modeled after the United Nations. Once born-again Christians have been taken up to meet Christ in the Rapture, what is left of Christianity will be willing to cooperate with other religions in the name of peace.

According to the prophecy in Revelation about the "Mark of the Beast," all people will be required to worship the Beast in order to receive permission to buy or sell. His world religious movement will be led by the False Prophet of Revelation 13. It's influence will be symbolized by the spiritually adulterous woman who rides the Beast in Revelation 17.

Islam and Christianity Share Roots in "Conquest", Claims Pope Francis

May 18, 2016 - In word and action, Pope Francis has been encouraging governments to “integrate” migrants into their cultures. European nations are concerned that some of these migrants are actually terrorist. He told the French Catholic newspaper, La Croix, that Islam should not be viewed as a threat.

“It is true that the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam. However, it is also possible to interpret the objective in Matthew’s Gospel, where Jesus sends his disciples to all nations, in terms of the same idea of conquest.”

'Temple of Baal' to go up in New York, London

Mar. 30, 2016 - In August of last year, ISIS destroyed the Temple of Baal in the ancient caravan city of Palmyra. The original structure was dedicated to the god Bel, or Baal, in A.D. 32 (approximately the time of the crucifixion of Jesus). In the Old Testament Baal - which means "Lord." was often condemned.

Now, replicas of the massive arch that stood at the temple will be installed in New York's Time Square and London's Leicester Square in time for this month's World Heritage celebration.

In a 2008 article, WND columnist Matt Barber explained some of the elements of Baal worship. “The principal pillars of Baalism were child sacrifice, sexual immorality (both heterosexual and homosexual) and pantheism (reverence of creation over the Creator)."

Right from wrong: The Vatican’s disgraceful display

Feb. 1, 2016 - This opinion piece from the Jerusalem Post expresses the sense of betrayal Israelis feel over the preferential treatment the Pope offered to Iranian President at the Vatican.

Pope Francis fawned all over the puppet head of the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei-led regime, directly and indirectly responsible for the slaughter of Christians across the world.

Last Wednesday Khamenei released avideo attack on Israel, Europe and the US called "Are The Dark Ages Over." In the documentary he again denies that the Holocaust even took place.

Is Pope Francis too indulgent with indulgences?

Jan. 16, 2016 - Pope Francis' penchant for granting indulgences does not set well with all Catholics in this year before the 400th anniversary of the Reformation, which was largely caused by the practice.

As briefly as possible, it is an “extra-sacramental” means by which a penitent can perform a duty — a pilgrimage or some similar act — to eliminate all or part of the penance they must complete after confessing a sin.

Indulgences grant a reduction of time spent in Purgatory after one dies, or for others who are already in Purgatory.

‘Pope Francis’ Calls for Collaboration With World’s Religions, Those Who ‘Meet God in Different Ways’

Jan. 9, 2016 - In a video presentation, Pope Francis calls for tolerance among religions. It shows him embracing people of various faiths. He said,

“Many think differently, feel differently, seeking God or meeting God in different ways. In this crowd, in this range of religions, there is only one certainty that we have for all: we are all children of God.”

Mike Gendron of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries of Plano, Texas explained to the Christian News Network that the Bible teaches that those who do not trust in Jesus Christ for salvation are not children of God.

- No one seeks for (the true) God (Rom. 3:11), but there are many who seek after false gods.
- The only way to meet with the true God is His way, through the one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim. 2:5).
- People are either children of God or children of the devil (1 John 3:10).
- Jesus told religious leaders who did not believe in Him, that their father was the devil, who is the father of lies (John 8:44).
- Satan, "The god of this age," has blinded those who do not believe in Christ (2 Cor. 4:4)
