Rise of Islam plotted at secret meeting
Jan. 31, 2012 - At a secret meeting in Egypt last week representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood discussed how to coordinate
their rise to power in countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
- Egyptian security officials told WND the meeting included Brotherhood members from Gaza, Syria, Jordan, Sudan and Egypt. The group discussed
methods of gaining more influence in the respective countries.
It was reported that the Brotherhood wanted to distance themselves from the militant Salafist organizations.

Muslim Brotherhood repeats: No talks with Israel
Jan. 26, 2012 - In an interview with a reporter from an Arabic newspaper, Mahmoud Ghazlan, the Muslim Brotherhood's spokesman, said
that his organization would “reject any request from the Israeli embassy to meet with leaders of the Brotherhood.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told Army Radio that Israel would be willing to have diplomatic dialog with the
new government in Egypt.
- Palmor said he believes Egypt would continue to honor the 1979 peace treaty with Israel, which he said serves the interests of
both countries.
Recently,Rashad Bayoumi. the deputy leader of the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) called Israel "an occupying criminal enemy,” and
claimed that they will take legal action against the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.

Muslim Brotherhood Picks Egypt's House Speaker; Attacks on Christians Inevitable?
Jan. 18, ,2012 - The Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) is expecting to take more than 40 percent of the
498 elected seats in the Egyptian assembly's lower house, and other Islamists will take another 20 percent. The legislative
body has nominated Mohamed Saad al-Katatni, Secretary-General of the FJP party, as speaker of the house.
Attacks against Christians have increased greatly since the overthrow of President Mubarak, and observers fear that the new control by the
Muslim Brotherhood will cause an increase in this violence.
- A number of world leaders, including President Obama and Pope Benedict XVI, have expressed serious concern about the dramatic
upsurge in attacks against that nation‘s largest religious minority, the Coptic Orthodox Christian community.

Muslim Brotherhood deputy head: We will never recognize Israel
Jan. 2, 2012 - The Muslim Brotherhood's political party, the Freedom and Justice Party, had promised that it would not act to cancel Egypt's
peace treaty with Israel even if it achieves an overwhelming majority. However, now that it appears they will gain that kind of majority,
Rashad Bayumi, the Muslim Brotherhood's second-in-command, told the London-based Al-Hayat, "No Muslim Brotherhood members will engage in any
contact or normalization with Israel." He added that the group will even work to amend the treaty.
